Hair loss and thinning is an evil spell difficult to get spared from and an issue one would face at some point in our lives.
This can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss and thinning may include:

Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Hairloss and thinning is typically related to one or more of the following factors:

Family history (heredity). The most common cause of hair loss is a hereditary condition that happens with aging.
Hormonal changes and medical conditions. A variety of conditions can cause permanent or temporary hair loss, including hormonal changes due to pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and thyroid problems.

Medications and supplements. Hair loss can be a side effect of certain drugs, such as those used for cancer, arthritis, depression, heart problems, gout and high blood pressure.
A very stressful event. Many people experience a general thinning of hair several months after a physical or emotional shock. This type of hair loss is temporary.
Hairstyles and treatments. Excessive hairstyling or hairstyles that pull your hair tight, such as pigtails or cornrows, can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia. Hot-oil hair treatments and permanents also can cause hair to fall out.
Risk factors:
A number of factors can increase your risk of hair loss, including:

Poor nutrition
Hard water
Deficiencies
Stress
Age
A family history of balding on your mother's or father's side
Significant weight loss
Certain medical conditions, such as diabetes and lupus
Pregnancy
If you are suffering with hair loss or thinning, consider taking following steps:

- Please first get your blood tests done - Deficiency of some minerals, vitamins and hormonal imbalance is the major cause of alopecia and hair fall.

- Consider installing water softener - In countries like UK, hard water is one of the biggest reasons for hairfall - try and get a water softener to help.
- Hair wash frequency - Wash your hair twice or thrice a week or so not more. The more you expose your hair to chemicals, the more they are prone to breakage and hair loss.
- Use natural shampoo - change your shampoo to a natural, chemical free shampoo. Consider using shampoo bars or powder shampoo.

- Adopt haircare routine using natural oils - Use our Nourishing Hair Oil Serum for dry, normal scalp and Scalp Balancing Hair Oil Serum for oily and combination (dandruff/flakes prone) scalp. Our hair oil serums are multipurpose, 100% natural and can be used as hair oil and serum as well.
- Never use hot water for hair - always use luke warm water for a headwash

- Be mindful of your diet and water intake - Balanced diet with appropriate water intake is an important part of maintaining good health, and can help you feel your best.
- Engage in exercising, meditation or yoga - Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently.

Top tips for hair care regime to tackle hairfall:

Pre-Wash
Take hair oil serum or hair mask and gently massage in the scalp and hair strands generously. Keep it on for approx. 30-45 mins before rinsing off your hair using a mild shampoo. Use hair oil at least twice a week and hair mask once a week.

Pre-Styling
Take a few drops, rub between your palms and apply to lengths (not scalp). After a few applications you will know the right usage quantity for your hair as it will be dependent on hair type and length.
Post-Styling
After styling, if you want to give your hair that extra shine and gloss then use another drop between your palm and tame any flyaways to give the final polish. After a few applications you will know the right usage quantity for you as it will be dependent on hair type and length.
Top tips:

Keep the oil on for 30-45 minutes only and don’t leave it overnight. If left overnight, oil can attract dust on the scalp leading to clogged pores that could result in more hairfall.
Don’t comb or tie your hair after applying oil. When the scalp is massaged, hair cuticles open up and there are high chances of losing strands if hair are tied or combed right after.
